the past: Veterans...
Thank You for Your Service!

With an estimated 18 million veterans across the United States, the need for a dedicated platform to support these individuals is undeniable. These veterans come from all walks of life—some actively seeking support, while others may be unaware of the benefits available to them. Our mission is clear: to empower those who have served, ensuring they receive the recognition, guidance, and support they deserve, no matter where they are on their journey after service.

VA Disability and Compensation

One of the critical areas we focus on is VA Disability and Compensation Claims. Shockingly, approx. 65% of veterans have never initiated these claims, often due to the complex nature of the process, misconceptions about eligibility, or simply a lack of understanding. We’re champions of veteran success, wielding an arsenal of tools, resources, and personalized engagements to ensure that veterans are acknowledged and esteemed for their sacrifices. We work tirelessly to facilitate their access to the benefits and opportunities they have earned and truly deserve.

Supporting Fellow Veterans

Michael Nichols, also known as SSgt Nichols, served with dedication for nearly a decade at the Department of Veterans Affairs. His roles as a Veteran Service Representative (VSR) and as a Rating Veteran Service Representative (RVSR) gave him insights into veterans’ struggles in properly filing and obtaining fair adjudication of their claims.

Witnessing these challenges first-hand, he recognized a critical need for more effective guidance and support through the intricate medical-legal VA process. Following his departure from the VA in January 2020, his commitment to serving veterans has not wavered.

Leveraging his extensive 22 years of Federal Service Experience, Michael Nichols now extends his specialized knowledge and seasoned expertise to help veterans navigate the process of VA Disability and Compensation claims. His mission remains steadfast: to ensure that veterans claim and receive the benefits they rightfully deserve with the help of best practices, critical resources, and personalized support.

VA Disability and Compensation: How does it work?

The VA Disability and Compensation program exists to provide financial assistance to veterans impaired by disabilities connected to their service. The existence of this program is a recognition of the sacrifices made by service members and a commitment to ensuring they receive appropriate support for disabilities linked to their service.

According to the 2023 VA Annual Benefits Report, there were 5.6 million veterans receiving compensation for service-connected disabilities, yet millions remain unassisted due to unfiled claims.

The process to receive these benefits includes several steps:

  • File a Claim – Veterans can initiate a claim for service connection with the VA.
  • Get Evaluated – If exams are warranted, the VA will request them to evaluate the disability(ies).
  • Receive Compensation – If it can be service connected, you will receive a rating decision and compensation tied to that disability(ies).

There are many contributing factors that go into filing your VA Disability & Compensation Claim and everyone has a different level of understanding. You have several options when it comes to filing your VA claim: you can go at it alone, enlist the help of a Veterans Service Organization (VSO), or rely on Team SSgt Nichols to provide resources and guidance through the VA’s complex medical and legal process.
